This first volume in the TEXT Special Issue Website Series is devoted to Creative Nonfiction writing in Australia. It coincides with the visit of Professor Lee Gutkind to Australia as a Keynote Speaker at the Writing 2000 Conference (June 23-26, 2000) - the fifth annual conference of the Australian Association of Writing Programs. Professor Gutkind is Director of the Creative Nonfiction Foundation, Pittsburgh, and author of The Art of Creative Nonfiction: Writing and Selling the Literature of Reality (NY: John Wiley, 1997).

The TEXT Special Issue Website Series is under the general editorship of Nigel Krauth and Tess Brady.
